Introduction
Hello, my name is Heather Baird. I am currently a student in the School of Industrial Design at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Our projects focus on the design and creation of products ranging from home goods to medical use. The curriculum at Georgia Tech follows a method of ideation where we begin with initial "brain dump" sketching and narrow down to 3 or 4 concepts. From there, we move forward with the design process and narrow down to 1 concept which we build into a 3D model. The designs are then presented to a professional board of reviewers.
My own passion for Industrial Design stems from an interest in art and science from a very young age. I loved any form of design and jumped at any chance to be creative. After years of summer art camps and taking any kind of art elective throughout school, I decided to pursue a degree in Industrial Design where I thought my creativity could be challenged and my eye for design put to use.
